Tune in Tonight 7:00pm to KLIF.com/570 AM after the wonderful Scott Murray Show – I’ll be on the Nicole Barrett Show again to discuss recent and upcoming films

I also want to share about the upcoming film I helped produce and have a tiny role in called “Occupy Texas.” It will be premiering at the The Dallas International Film Festival, April 15th, 7:30 pm. It is starring and written by the talented NYC actor Gene Gallerano – a Dallas native who graduated from Booker T. Also starring Perri Gilpin and Janine Turner. We hope to get the stars on the air next week to talk about it.

Reviews for this week:

3 Stars“Batman vs. Superman” is a curiosity, it’s a fascinating mess of a film that doesn’t really work but constantly makes you think it’s going to. It’s disconnected, pieced together and too many story lines. It’s a darker version than most of the comic book films with not much humor. The only two funny lines come from Batman and Lois Lane almost at the end of the film. The movie is constantly setting up with minor character references for future DC franchise films. I will say it’s ambitious in an intriguing way. It has lots of flaws but something strangely compelling about it. Overall it’s overstuffed and preposterous. That being said – I do recommend it. Outstanding cast though with Bruce Wayne (played by the very handsome Ben Affleck, looking more and more like George Clooney), Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), Lois Lane (always good Amy Adams), Kentucky Senator (Holly Hunter), Laurence Fishburne (Lois and Kent’s boss), Lex Luther (wonderfully overplayed by the talented Jesse Eisenberg), Alfred (Jeromy Irons) and Martha (Diane Lane). PG13

4 Stars“My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2” The long awaited follow-up to one of the highest grossing romantic comedies. Written by Nia Vardales, who stars alongside the entire returning cast of favorites, the film reveals a Portokales family secret that will bring the beloved characters back together again (you won’t get over how much they all look as they did 15 years ago) for a bigger Greek wedding. Great film, don’t miss it! PG13

2 StarsWait for DVD, Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, et al – “The Divergent Series: Allegiant” – The third installment of the blockbuster series franchise, “Allegiant” takes Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) into a new world far more dangerous than before. Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love. The film has good acting and some cool science fiction ideas and shots but overall pretty boring. PG13
